![]() Teachers are the born architects of the society, chiselling the students’ mental and physical health covering behavior patterns with curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Compared with other professions, teaching is sacramental in nature, bestowed with tranquillity and transcendental in approach carries the individual acquired traits, knowledge and qualities to the future reincarnation life stages of man. It is a profession of enchanting nature placed in the hierarchy ladder of higher order profession. ![]() Teaching is a noble profession ensembled with traits of various qualities. It is the combination of these two types of skills that are needed for achieving assertive behaviour and negotiating effectively. While thinking skills relate to the personal level, social skills include interpersonal skills. Essentially, there are two kinds of skills - those related to thinking called "thinking skills" and skills related to dealing with others called "social skills". ![]() Life skills include psychosocial abilities and interpersonal skills that help people take decisions, solve problems, think critically, communicate effectively, build healthy relationships, empathize with others, and cope with the stress and strain of life in a healthy and productive manner. UNICEF defines life skills as “a behaviour change or behaviour development approach designed to address a balance of three areas: knowledge, attitude and skills”. Life skills have been defined by the World Health Organisation as “the abilities for adaptive and positive behavior that enable individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life”. ![]() Life Skills are those competencies that assist people in functioning well in the environments in which they live.
